Selling a home: What is dual agency?

Are you thinking of selling your home?  This tip covers dual agency, which is when a listing agent represents both seller & buyer for the same property.

The second form of dual agency is when you have a buyer’s agent & listing agent from the same brokerage representing their own client for a property.

This is allowed in California.  It is something I don’t practice since I feel it’s a conflict of interest.  I can’t tell my sellers that I will negotiate the highest possible price & then also tell a buyer I will get them the best possible price on the property.

You now also have your list agent working for two commissions.

We will talk further about how through my marketing program, negotiating skills & representing just the seller on my listings, I am able to get my sellers the highest price when selling their home.
