Leaders in the City of Burlingame, CA are busy with the planning process for a building project in the North Rollins Road area. This process involves the city issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) directed to consultants, consultant teams and multi-disciplinary companies. The RFP invites these contractors to submit their proposals for participating in The North Rollins Road Specific Plan.

This RFP is a first step in fulfilling the city’s vision for developing the North Rollins Road area into a “dynamic, vibrant, inter-generational and eclectic mixed-use neighborhood.” Another facet of Burlingame’s vision for the mixed-use neighborhood is providing convenient connectivity to the Millbrae multi-modal transit station.

Here are some facets that should be included in the prospective Specific Plan for North Rollins Road:

  • Design standards
  • Ease of use for bicyclists and pedestrians (with a strong emphasis on safety)
  • Green infrastructure
  • Green building proposals for Net Zero carbon buildings
  • Design for improvements such as a park/plaza and other open space areas.
