Fun events planned for Saturday in Burlingame CA

Burlingame, CA will be a hopping place Saturday, Sept. 28 with a few events that include a pet parade, Fall Fest and rummage sale. So, if you are on the hunt for something to do that day, you will not be disappointed.

Saturday’s events include the following:

  • The 2019 Annual Pet Parade – Begins at 10 a.m. on Broadway at Chula Vista Avenue and ends at Capuchino Avenue.

Pet owners desiring to show off their furry friends in the parade should show up at the parking lot near Broadway and Chula Vista Avenue at 9:30 a.m.

Additionally, the Pet Parade features a “Best School Float” competition. Parade organizers encourage all schools in San Mateo County, public and private, to compete for cash prizes. The first place school winner will receive a $500 check and the second place winner will receive $250. School groups planning to participate must sign up in advance. Other parade competitions include Best Pet Trick, Best Dressed Pet, Most Unusual Pet and Most Original Float. A special prize is in store for the Grand Prize winner.

Parade rules are as follows:

  • Only non-motorized floats are eligible to compete; each float must include at least one pet.
  • Floats may be as simple as a wagon, kiddie car or decorated bicycle.
  • No political entries.
  • All pet types are welcome.
  • Children who do not have a pet can bring a stuffed animal.

Broadway Burlingame and Burlingame Pet Parade are hosting this event.

  • St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church’s Fall Fest – 10 a.m to 9 p.m., 1300 Bayswater Ave., Burlingame

This family-oriented event is hosting the following attractions:

  • Rock climbing wall
  • Food provided by Celia’s Mexican Restaurant and Izzy’s Cheesesteaks Food Truck
  • Petting zoo
  • Bungee jumping
  • Face painting
  • Lots of games

 

  • Boy Scout Troop 156 Rummage Sale – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., First Presbyterian Church, 1500 Easton Drive, Burlingame

Attention Second-hand Value Scouts! Come and take a peek at the merchandise offerings here. Go to the overflow parking lot at El Camino Real and Easton. Who knows? You may find that special little something for your home. Proceeds from the sale will fund an Eagle Scout project and High Adventure trip.
