Meet the Agent: Cheryl Bower

Congratulations to Cheryl Bower! She is celebrating her 8th year anniversary with Zephyr Real Estate in October and is based at our West Portal office.

If a client has a question about San Francisco, Cheryl will have the answer. As a 3rd generation San Franciscan, her city roots run deep. She applies her historical knowledge to guide selection, pricing and purchase of real estate. Cheryl purchased her first home while in her early 20’s and went on to purchase several more, patiently renovating each one. For the past two decades, she has also co-owned & managed a 5-unit apartment building in Glen Park. She is able to provide first hand advice on the challenges and opportunities that arise with being a landlord.

Although she is a city girl, she is now firmly transplanted on the Peninsula and has grown to love the small-town vibe and all that San Mateo County has to offer.

Cheryl is one of our few agents to represent both San Francisco and San Mateo County sellers and buyers. She is familiar with the necessary documents and disclosures in both the 415 and 650 and enjoys sharing lifestyle in each area to those new to region. She’s also a member of both the San Francisco & San Mateo County Realtor Associations.

When catching up with Cheryl about her Zephyr anniversary, she shared some inside information to get to know her better.

1. What city do you live in and why? How long have you lived there and what do you love best about it?

I live in Burlingame and have for the last 12 years after my wife and I purchased a neglected Spanish Revival home which we set about updating. We are nearly done with the transformation, preserving some of the original 1930’s details while incorporating modern conveniences. Initially, I was drawn to the warmer weather and value available on the Peninsula. I’ve come to love the community, the close proximity to outdoor space & the friendliness of the locals.

2. What do you love to do in your spare time?

I have recently taken up golf and love to spend a relaxing day on the links. I have been know to put the finishing touches on an offer while waiting to tee off! I enjoy surprising clients with my availability and tenacity in putting together a successful deal.

3. What do you think is the most important room in the house that clients focus on when buying and why?

I find that the kitchen is the most important room for several reasons. Most of my clients are foodies and they will visualize themselves cooking and entertaining there. If the kitchen needs updating, they understand the positive impact of doing renovations. Ultimately, the kitchen is the heart of the home. It nourishes us by providing a place to prepare food and if it’s an inspiring space it can fuel the mind and soul in addition to the body.
