Welcome to San Carlos

Also known as “The City of Good Living,” San Carlos is a pleasant peninsula city with lots to offer including a quaint downtown, local museums and plenty of open space. A central location between Silicon Valley and San Francisco combined with lovely weather make San Carlos a lovely place to live, and very in demand.

San Carlos sits between Belmont and Redwood City and boasts a modest population of about 30,000. It was the first city in California to open a charter school, and is noted for its high-ranking school system.

San Carlos hosts many noteworthy community events. The Chickens’ Ball is an annual PTA fundraiser that has been operating for more than 75 years. The tradition, which raises funds for local schools and the visual and performing arts, is a five-day event and one of the most talked-about variety shows around. Its name harkens back to the Gay ‘90s when women of ill-repute competed with glittery costumes of feathers and sequins. This distinctive event is just one of many unique characteristics that make San Carlos a great place to be.
